Adobe Software Licensing

Adobe Pro software licenses for 2024-25 are now licensed at the school level. If Creative Cloud Suite (or Express Premium) is needed please have a KFS account number ready.

How to Request a License:

  • Visit Adobe OIT to request the appropriate license for your needs. Without this, you will be only have a trial license.
  • The process is entirely self-service--computing can no longer issue licenses on behalf of individuals

    Note: Adobe Creative Cloud Pro is $60 for faculty & staff per fiscal year and is free for students

    Renewal Process

    For license renewal, the same process is applied.  There is no need for reinstallation after a renewal or first time license request for Adobe Pro. All social ecology computers have Adobe Pro preinstalled for your use.

    Installation for Creative Cloud Suite

    Licenses cover both PC and Mac versions.

    After Completing Your License Request:

    You will need to sign into Adobe Pro program and it will have full use. Please follow the instructions below on how to sign in.

    1. Launch the Adobe Pro program
    2. Click on “Sign In" on the top right of the Adobe program.
    3. Then click on “Sign In” when the window appears. (You will be using your UCINet ID and password along with DUO)
    4. Type in your UCI email on Sign In window then hit “Continue”
    5. The next window you will select "Company or School Account" and it will take you to the DUO authentication.  After that you are all good and will able to use Adobe Pro once again.

    Troubleshooting: Trial version or License Errors

    If you encounter the error “This feature is not included in your current Acrobat license” or still getting the message you are on trial version, you will need to do the following in the Adobe Acrobat program:

    1. Click on “Help”
    2. Scroll down to “Sign out (ucinetid/email)” If it does not appear please give it a minute or two for it to populate.
    3. When the window appears click on “Sign Out”
    4. Then close/quit Adobe Pro
    5. Open Adobe Pro
    6. Then click on “Sign In” when the window appears.  (You will be using your UCINet ID and password along with DUO)
    7. Type in your UCI email in  the Sign In window then hit “Continue”
    8. The next window you will select "Company or School Account" and it will take you to the DUO authentication.  
    9. Wait about 30 seconds for it register and then completely close the program and re-launch
    10. Hit "Accept" to accept the terms. After that you are all good and will able to use Adobe Pro once again.
