Faculty are provided with startup funds when they first arrive at the School. Faculty are expected to use some of these funds for their computer and research needs. Later, faculty can use some of their Research and Travel (R&T) funds to purchase new computer equipment after their startup funds expire. Faculty involved with research that requires specialized or additional computing equipment are responsible for finding funding (through grants, departmental funds, etc.). SE Computing is here to help with quotes for computers, as you see fit. We can help you stay within budget, and work with you to meet your technical, and software needs.
Staff are provided with a PC laptop for hybrid work. These computers will be upgraded approximately every 4-5 years and are under warranty. This staff setup comes with one dock, one external charger (for home use), a mouse, a keyboard and one external monitor. While in the office, a Xerox copier is provided for printing. For any other needs, please ask your department manager.
