UCInetID

Individual UCInetIDs are granted to each member of the faculty, staff, and student population at UCI. For the duration of your relationship with UCI, you will use your individual UCInetID regularly to access important online services, one example would be accessing email services.

Email Services

Email iconThe Office of Information Technology (OIT) provides email accounts for all faculty. Social Ecology supports Microsoft's Office 365.

You may access your email using the campus webmail system, located at:

https://outlook.com/uci.edu

OIT provides a number of mailing lists, the lists are available at:

http://www.oit.uci.edu/mailing-lists/mailman/

Accounts: Research

Research accounts are usually set up by Faculty members, shared by a group of researchers.

To login use your assigned login ID, password, and in the third field select "SOCECO."

If there is a need to reset the account password or any other related requests, please ask the appropriate Faculty member to contact Social Ecology Computing Support for the reset.

 

Virus Prevention

Computer viruses are an ongoing problem across the Internet. OIT now scans incoming email for viruses and cleans up infected messages. This protection is available only to messages sent to your @UCI.EDU address. SE Computing installs McAfee anti-virus for the Macs and uses built in Microsoft Defender for PC's for anti-virus protection.
