New Hire Request 2023

Please Note:

This form helps to ensure that the necessary computing services are setup for new faculty or staff before they arrive at the University. Many of the services require that a UCInetID be established for the new employee which requires them be in the payroll system. Once in the payroll system, they can activate the UCInetID by visiting the web site https://activate.uci.edu/

Please fill out the form below and specify which services should be made available to the new employee.  If the UCInetID is not yet established, please let us know as soon as it's activated so we can finish with the requested access.

For questions about activating a UCInetID, contact the Office of Information Technology at (949) 824-2222 or oit@uci.edu

Adobe Software Licensing

Campus is supplying Adobe Pro software licenses for 2023 rather licensing at the school level. If Creative Cloud Suite is needed please have a KFS account number ready for entry.

Please start by going to http://adobe.oit.uci.edu  and requesting the appropriate license for your needs. Without this, you will be only have a trial license. Computing can no longer issue the licenses as it's ONLY a self-service process now.

Critical vulnerability in older Windows systems

Windows 7You may have received a UCI ZotMail about a flaw that has been discovered in Windows Remote Desktop Services on older Windows machines. Please update your Windows 7 system as soon as possible.

This vulnerability does not require any kind of login, so it can spread very quickly among campus systems. It is vital that anyone on campus using an earlier version of Windows apply the patch as soon as possible.

Multi-Factor Authentication

DUO MFAMultiFactor Authentication (MFA) is a two-step process that requires both a password and a second verification using a smartphone or a small token device that you carry with you. The University of California is adopting an MFA product called “Duo” and most UC campuses now require it to access institutional resources or soon will.

The campus is expected to transition to DUO MFA by October 15, 2019.

For assitance setting up DUO MFA please visit: https://www.oit.uci.edu/mfa/
